Dark Family DIY Book Nook Kit

Dark Family is a DIY book nook kit that brings a miniature haunted manor to your bookshelf. Cobweb motifs edge the dark frame, and an illustrated outer panel shows a crooked house against a pale moon. Inside, warm LED lighting reveals a tall, layered home filled with books, portraits and some rather unusual company.

A haunted house with rooms to discover

The scene draws your eye upward from the furnished lower hall to shelves and railings above. A little ghost sits inside a suspended cage near the upper level, in front of a colorful round window patterned like a spider's web. Below, a stitched hand emerges from an open coffin with a skeleton-decorated lid. A miniature gramophone, candle-shaped ornaments and clock faces give the room the feeling of an eccentric old home.

There is more to notice along the walls: framed family portraits, rows of tiny books and a wolf-head ornament on a shield-shaped mount. The mix of dark wood tones, pale walls and warm light makes each small object part of a whole interior, with something different to spot as you look into the scene from different angles.

A little world to build over time

Assemble the wooden structure and furnish its rooms, taking time over the shelves, pictures and curious little residents. This gothic miniature rewards a slower approach: you can work on one part, pause, then return to the next.
